Arab coalition destroys ‘hostile air target’ over Riyadh
Cairo: A Saudi-led Arab coalition, fighting Yemen’s Al Houthi militia, Saturday intercepted and destroyed a “hostile air target” in the direction of Riyadh, the Saudi television Al Ekhbariya reported without details.

Residents in Riyadh Saturday said they heard the sound of an explosion in the city’s sky. Some eyewitnesses believed the sound had resulted from interception of a projectile. It was not immediately clear what the “hostile target” was and who sent it.

The coalition Friday foiled what it called two “terrorist” attacks launched by Iran-allied Al Houthis targeting Saudi Arabia.
###
The coalition intercepted and destroyed an explosive boat in the southern Red Sea and unmanned aerial vehicle launched by Al Houthis in the direction of the kingdom.
###
On Sunday, three civilians were injured in the Saudi region of Jazan near the Yemeni border by a projectile fired by Al Houthis.

Al Houthis plunged Yemen into a devastating conflict after they toppled the internationally recognised government and overran the capital Sana’a in late 2014.
