Backstage News On Late Changes Made to WWE Extreme Rules, Who Ran the Show in Vince McMahon’s Absence?
PWInsider.com is reporting some late changes were made to the WWE Extreme Rules card before the PPV on Sunday.
The 30 minute Iron Man Match, which ended up main eventing the show, was originally supposed to open the show, with original plans calling for Reigns vs Lashley to be the headliner. The third hour reportedly was also set to feature Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax, and the WWE Title match.
Additionally, Vince McMahon, who is usually in the Gorilla Position for all WWE events, was not in Pittsburgh on Sunday night and was not at the PPV. He was, however, in communication with WWE officials. In McMahon’s absence, Triple H and Billy Kidman ran the show in the Gorilla Position.
