Many ladies had got used to a home kit for skin care, pedicure and manicure, without having to depend on anyone for a quick and easy spruce-up, during lockdown. This option also proved to be effective, and easy on the wallet.

“I am happy that treatments like threading and facials are not allowed in salons yet, as I dread to think of the close contact we have with the beauticians during these treatments. I wouldn’t have gone for these even if it was allowed or open, ” says Ruby De Cunha.

Pampering

###

Most men were fine to give their hair a much wanted pampering from a salon. While some men preferred to wait for the weekend, many had already booked their appointments with the barber, for today and tomorrow. “My barber didn’t have a slot available for weekend. So I booked for the earliest that he had for today,” said Bharat adding he was grateful to his wife and daughter for their assistance with his haircut in the interim, although it was far from perfect. “But then everyone was in the same situation, so criticisms were minimal.”

The salons and barbershops for men as well as the beauty parlours for women were busy since the announcement yesterday with bookings and are abuzz today with treatments.
