COVID-19: Oman’s infections surpass 100,000 mark
Cairo: Oman announced Sunday that its overall infections of the novel coronavirus have hit 101,270, confirming 2,685 new cases in the country since the last tally reported on Tuesday. The Omani Health Ministry has raised the country’s total deaths from COVID-19 to 977.
The total number of recoveries in the sultanate has reached 90,296, or 89.1 per cent, the ministry said, according to the Omani news agency ONA. In recent weeks, Oman has relaxed several virus-related restrictions. In mid-August, Oman lifted a ban on night-time movement that was imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19. The sultanate resumed regular international flights on October 1.
Authorities have kept a ban on large gatherings to curb the spread of the virus.
