Micro lockdown in 6 cities

###

Currently, the Punjab government has imposed a micro lockdown in six cities of the province as authorities warned against any complacency or violation of health guidelines despite the declining number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

###

Provincial Health Secretary Muhammad Usman said the micro smart lockdown has been imposed in areas of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Attock.

###

“Only the micro smart lockdown in the affected areas can stop more people from being infected by coronavirus,” he said adding coronavirus had not yet been eliminated and the disease could only be stopped by following precautionary measures.

###

Under the new strategy, localized lockdowns will be limited to streets, small neighbourhoods or one building with multiple units.
