COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 1,363 new cases and 36 deaths

Dubai: Saudi Arabia reported 1,363 new coronavirus cases during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the kingdom to 302,686.


Thirty-six people have died from COVID-19, taking the country’s overall deaths to 3,506, the Ministry of Health said during its press conference today.

A further 1,180 patients have made a full recovery, pushing the total number of recovered cases to 274,091, and the recovery rate to 92 per cent.


Dr. Mohammad Al Abdul Ali, the Health Ministry’s spokesperson, said the kingdom saw a 60 per cent decline in active cases that have reached 25,089 cases, including 1,725 critical under intensive treatment.

Jazan topped the Saudi cities in terms of the daily registered coronavirus cases with 109, followed by Mecca with 106 and Medina with 57, while Riyadh witnessed a significant fall in COVID-19 infections after it registered 49 cases.
