COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 348 new cases, 25 deaths

Dubai: Saudi Arabia today announced the detection of 348 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the kingdom to 339,615, the Ministry of Health said.

According to the ministry, 25 patients died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the virus-related fatalities to 5,068.

The ministry also reported 509 new recoveries, raising the total number of recovered people to 325,839 with the recovery rate hitting 95.94 per cent.

Of the new cases, Madinah recorded the highest number of cases with 53 infections followed by Makkah with 38 and Hufof with 28.

Jeddah continued to report less infections with only 7 cases recorded today. On Sunday, the city reported the lowest cases since the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom with only three infections.

Active cases continued to drop with 8,708 cases, out of which 842 are critical.
