COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 468 new cases, total climbs to 337,711
Dubai: Saudi Arabia today reported 468 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the kingdom to 337,711, according to the Ministry of Health.
Twenty-four more died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 4,947.
The ministry also announced 596 new recoveries in the 24 hours, raising the total number of people recovered from the deadly virus to 323,208, with the recovery rate climbing to nearly 96 per cent.
Of the new cases, Medina recorded the highest number of cases with 71 infections followed by Mecca with 53, Yanbu with 31, Hofuf with 29, and Riyadh with 25. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the kingdom.
Active cases continued to drop sharply with 9,556 reported today, out of which 913 are critical.
