Details on How WWE Will Handle NXT Broadcasts on Christmas & New Years
Details have surfaced on how WWE plans to handle next week’s Christmas edition of NXT. The show will air in its usual timeslot on the USA Network, but all of the segments have already been recorded, or will be recorded in advance.
Roderick Strong issuing an open challenge for the NXT North American Championships is being advertised for the show. That match was actually taped on December 11th, and it will be former EVOLVE Champion Austin Theory that answers the challenge.
Two other matches were taped ahead of the December 18th taping at Full Sail University, and while not yet advertised, they will both likely air on Christmas. They include Bianca Belair vs. Shotzi Blackheart, and Candice LeRae vs. Taynara.

Finally, former Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush will be teaming with Keith Lee for a tag team match against Dominik Dijakovic and Tony Nese. That will actually be taped on Friday, December 20th at the WWE Live event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
NXT will also air on New Year’s Day. It’s unclear exactly what they’ll be doing for the show, but it will be pre-recorded content as well and is likely to feature year-end awards for 2019.
