Oman reports 119 COVID-19 deaths in 3 days
Dubai: Oman reported record 119 COVID-19 deaths and 5,517 new infections in three days as the health minister warned of a breakdown in the healthcare system if the number of patients continued to rise, local media said.
For the first time since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Oman, the number of deaths exceeding 100 during the last three days, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The numbers point to a significant increase in the new cases of coronavirus infections and ICU patients in the region.
The ministry today announced that 214 patients have been admitted to hospitals and 498 to ICU, bringing the total number of patients admitted to health institutions to 1,635.

The Sultanate recorded 119 deaths during the past three days, with 42 deaths reported on Thursday, 35 deaths on Friday and 42 deaths on Saturday, bringing the total fatalities to 2,967. There are 5,517 new cases of coronavirus, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Health. This brings the total infections in the Sultanate to 262,059.
