Accordingly, expat work permit fees will be reduced by 25 per cent for companies that have Omani workforce, and 50 per cent reduction will be given to companies that have achieved the Omanisation rate.
“There will be a fee reduction in the expatriate workforce recruitment permits as specified in the Ministerial Decision (12/2021) for upper and intermediate occupations and technical and specialised professions,” the ministry added.
The Omanisation rate will be calculated according to the distribution of workers in each company. “The fees will be reduced by 25 per cent for establishments that have Omani workforce and 50 per cent for establishments that have achieved the Omanisation rate. The Omanisation rate will be calculated according to the distribution of workers on the establishment’s various economic activities,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the ministry said it will implement the new expat work permit fees from June 1.
