Qatar Airways to resume flights to Egypt from January 18
Cairo: Qatar’s national carrier has announced restarting its flights to Egypt on January 18, as the two countries has decided to resume air travel between them.

Qatar Airways has said it will resume its services to Egypt with a flight to Cairo on January 18, to be followed by a flight to Alexandria, Egypt’s second biggest city, on January 25.

The airline added on its Twitter account that its flights to Egypt will start with a daily service to Cairo and twice weekly flights to Alexandria.

Egypt Tuesday announced reopening its airspace to Qatari flights, signalling an end to a crisis of more than three years.

The Egyptian state carrier EgyptAir said it will fly to Qatar starting on January 18.

Increase flights
###
EgyptAir will fly daily to Qatar, in addition to four flights a week from the Bourj Al Arab airport in Alexandria, head of the airline Rushdy Zakaria has said.

The carrier could increase flights depending on demand, he added.

There are around 300,000 Egyptians in Qatar.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain have already reopened their airspaces with Qatar after a historic Gulf summit that ended a rift with Doha.
