Saudi Arabia: 99 female security personnel deployed at Prophet’s Mosque

Dubai: A total of 99 female personnel of the Special Security Force have been deployed at the Prophet’s Mosque, offering the best possible services to women worshipers and visitors during Ramadan, local media reported.

Maj. Gen. Abdul Rahman Al Mashhan, director of the Madinah police, said that the first batch of the female personnel of the Special Security Force have been on duty from Oct. 18, 2020 (Rabi Al Awwal 1).

“The presence of women security forces has been instrumental in organizing the visit of women to the Rawdah Sharif in an orderly and effective manner. These women personnel are also doing great work in enforcing the coronavirus precautionary measures and preventive protocols in the best possible manner in the prayer areas for women at the holy mosque.”

Special training

###

Al Mashhan said they have undergone special training programs in the security, field, and administrative realms so as to qualify them to perform their new duties with a high level of professionalism.

Earlier last week, Saudi Arabia stationed women police officers on duty for the first time in history at Mecca’s Grand mosque.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior shared the photos of female security officers patrolling the compound of the mosque.

The moves come as part of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud’s Vision 2030 reform.
