Two More Top Indy Workers Getting WWE Tryouts & New Approach To Recruiting
Following the news that WWE has signed El Generico to a developmental contract, it’s worth noting that two more independent wrestlers who have upcoming WWE tryouts are Adam Cole and Sami Callihan .
The success of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and now Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins has changed WWE’s attitude about signing top independent workers that don’t necessarily have the look and size that WWE traditionally looks for. and in particular Punk and Bryan has caused a totally different mentality when it comes to talent coming through the indies and also talent that doesn’t have the look, the size and the physique that used to be the first thing they look for.
The new approach for signing talent is that WWE is going after people who can be television stars and can be taught to wrestle the WWE style, opposed to signing great in-ring workers and hoping they catch on with fans.
