WWE Maintains Erroneous Abu Dhabi Claim (Video), Eva Marie Talks Going to The Rock for Career Advice
As noted, WWE claimed following their Abu Dhabi live event earlier this month that the Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss match which took place at the show was the first-ever women’s match in United Arab Emirates’ history.
The claim is untrue, however, as we noted TNA actually ran a women’s tag team match back in 2010, featuring Madison Rayne, Sarita, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky.
On Raw last week, Stephanie McMahon amended WWE’s claim and noted that Banks vs Bliss was the first-ever women’s match in Abu Dhabi in WWE history. However, the company has since released the video above on the historic night, hyping the “history making” bout, with the following, original claim:
“WWE Superstars meet the WWE Universe in Abu Dhabi, while Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss make history competing in the first women’s match in the United Arab Emirates.”
Eva Marie On Going to The Rock for Career Advice
Former WWE star Eva Marie recently spoke with ESPN and below is what she had to say on seeking career advice from The Rock:
“I love talking to The Rock,” she said. “He’s done the transition from WWE to the mainstream so well. He always tells me to stay my lane, not to compare myself to other people and just do the work.
“He’s been fantastic and I’m really fortunate to have that relationship with him… It would be great to emulate his career, but we’ll see what happens.”
